Planters

Levy & Nadia Marychurch

Levi and Nadia Marychurch are embarking on an exciting journey to plant a church in Mount Maunganui, located in the picturesque Bay of Plenty. They have always been deeply connected to the landscapes, cultures, and communities of their homeland. These have shaped their values, particularly in terms of whānaungatanga (community), whānau (family), and whakapapa (ancestry). Their vision for the church is to reflect the beauty and abundance of the region while fostering a strong sense of belonging and spiritual growth within the community. With a shared purpose and excitement, they are ready to start a new church that shows how Jesus resonates with local hearts and heritage.

Nadia Marychurch has a deep personal connection to the Bay of Plenty, as her ancestral roots lie in the Ngāi Te Rangi iwi. Planting a church in this region allows her to reconnect with her whakapapa and honor her heritage while serving the community. Levi, on the other hand, comes from Taranaki, a nearby region known for its rugged natural beauty. Levi and Nadie felt a calling to Mount Maunganui because of the community's need for a church focused on discipleship and spiritual health.

Nadie and Levi are experienced church leaders. Before returning to New Zealand, the Marychurch family spent five years in Ottawa, Canada, where they successfully planted and grew a thriving church community. Their mission was to create a welcoming space where people could experience God’s love and build meaningful connections. This experience prepared has them for their next chapter of ministry back home in New Zealand.

They are passionate about building a church that embraces Māori culture, fosters relationships, creates a supportive environment, and most of all: helps people to encounter and know Jesus's love for them. Their goal is to establish a multi-generational, vibrant community hub where discipleship happens through genuine relationships, and people feel empowered to live out their faith with purpose and unity.
